Mat bought a truly neglected Audi S5 with the 4.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 for just £5,000. Despite the car not being the quickest, the V8 sound made it a special project — and Mat called it his best car restoration to date at the time.
The rebuild involved driveway-level work: new suspension, updated vital components, and an aftermarket exhaust that unleashed the V8's signature soundtrack. The transformation from neglected secondhand car to dealership-quality condition was dramatic. Mat later raffled the S5 off to his viewers.
