The Bentley Continental GT was the build that transformed HWBT Builds from a growing UK automotive YouTuber into a genuine star. During the COVID-19 lockdown of 2020, with the world at a standstill, Mat purchased a damaged Bentley Continental GT and spent months restoring it — documenting every step in a series that captivated a rapidly growing audience.
With nowhere to go and nothing but time, the lockdown actually gave Mat the space and focus to dedicate himself fully to this build. The result was one of the most comprehensive and entertaining rebuild series on his channel at that point.
Post-build, Mat drove the restored Bentley to Monaco as a celebration — the kind of content that blends automotive passion with adventure and aspirational storytelling.
