The Build Story
The Subaru BRZ was a return to basics — a lightweight, rear-wheel-drive sports car with a low centre of gravity and a naturally aspirated 2.0L boxer engine. Mat bought a damaged example from salvage and documented the full rebuild.
Despite only 200 hp, the BRZ's light weight and brilliant chassis balance made it a proper driver's car. The rebuild proved that not every project needs a V8 or V10 — sometimes the best driving experiences come from modest power and exceptional handling.
