The Build Story
The Toyota GT86 is the twin sister of the Subaru BRZ — sharing the same 2.0L boxer engine, rear-wheel-drive platform and lightweight philosophy. Mat bought a damaged GT86 from salvage and documented the full rebuild.
With its sub-1,300 kg kerb weight and low centre of gravity, the GT86 delivers a pure driving experience that far exceeds what 200 hp would suggest. The rebuild showcased Mat's versatility — from supercars to genuine driver's cars.
